UWSAG talks to Judy Ann
of A Lady's View Awards

Owner: A Lady's View Awards rated 2.0+ with UWSAG
Winner: UWSAG Award Seekers Pick! for September, 2003

  1. What got you started in website design?

"I've always been artistic; drawing and sketching has been a big part of my life. I worked for the state of Michigan, untill recently, alocating and laying out their websites, but never using my own graphics or designs. Something I always longed to do. One Christmas, about 5 years ago, my daughter gave me a gift for Christmas, that made all things possible. It was Paint Shop Pro. From that day on, I've felt free to be me, by expressing myself through my graphics, websites and written work on the internet."

  2. What do you hope to accomplish with your award program?

Judy Ann "My only wish is to give encouragement and thanks to those worthy website owners/creators who have given of themselves, through hard work and dedication, to make the world a better place for all, via the internet and their websites."

  3. What advice would you give other program owners?

"Never feel discouraged. Your program will change and grow with time, but never lose sight of the fact that you must enjoy giving awards, your program must be fun for YOU, or it will become a rather meaningless task. If your program isn't like other award programs, if it doesn't quite fit the 'mold', that’s good, your program should be unique and should be an extension of you. As a wonderful friend of mine, named Tom, recently told me, "Once giving awards, stops being fun, that’s the time I quit" Words I will forever be grateful for, words I will always remember."

  4. What was the biggest problem you faced with your award program?

"I've been a lucky lady, I really haven't faced any real problems. The only one that comes to mind, was one angry visitor who was upset, because I do not accept applications from Website Competition sites. I explained to her, that it's my belief and the belief of my evaluators, that Website Competition sites give, share and receive so many awards, that it's unfair to our other applicant sites to include them."

  5. If you had to do it all over again, what would you do differently?

"Probably nothing, other than NOT be as insecure and afraid to ask questions and get advice from seasoned award givers, as I was a few months ago. There are a lot of friendly, kind and helpful Award Site webmasters out there, who will go the extra mile to lend a helping hand."

  6. What plans do you have for the future?

"To continue on, growing and expanding with my award program, as in my life."

  7. What else do you like to do?

"My heart, my soul, my life, is my 10 year old granddaughter, whom I have raised since she was 4 months old. I love doing, what 10 year old girls love doing, from going to Aaron Carter concerts, to snowboarding. How many times, do we say to ourselves, "I wish I could live my life over again"? As I said before, I am a lucky lady, I AM living my life over again, and enjoying every second of it."
