of the Villa de Alcazarén Website

Owner: Villa de Alcazarén
Winner: UWSAG Top Ten! for September, 2003
Owner: Alcazarén Awards rated 3.0 with UWSAG

  1. What got you started in website design?

Villa de Alcazarén "Investigation. Back when the World Wide Web began disseminating (pre 90s), we were working with programs that enabled hypertext, links within a file and between files; thereafter the word file has been replaced with the word website."

  2. What do you hope to accomplish with your website?
    Luis E. Vadillo
"It’s being accomplished already. People from Alcazarén, and other places, know the town historical foundations and enjoy and share the site pictures."

  3. What advice would you give other webmasters?

"To spend some time selecting their working environment as later on it’s difficult to change. Learn from the rest of websites and have a clear idea of what’s the goal, no problem if it changes at a later time, but an empty screen with an empty mind is too bad. Graphic manipulation is advisable but not a must."

  4. What was the biggest problem you faced with your website?

"I didn’t follow the advice given above. It’s an evolutionary website. Well, it was."

  5. If you had to do it all over again, what would you do differently?

"The site will evolve to a tableless one adhering to W3C/WAI and similar standards, it’s easier to do it since the beginning. I never thought before that it was my job, it was something I assumed the tools being used would take care of by themselves."

  6. What plans do you have for the future?

"As said in the previous question, will change to a tableless site if possible and also will try a new look for it. As the content has caught me, I’m investigating on several new topics to add, e.g. roman trails and new historical events, etc. Did I say something about graphics? Well, some graphic expertise needs to be acquired. Luckily all has been said without giving a time table, it may take forever."

  7. What else do you like to do?

"Apart form other, do nothing, traveling, biking, movies (science fiction, space), reading, dancing and listening to music, Internet (more or less)."
